I injured my thumb whilst playing rugby, and saw Mr. Goon after I noticed significant swelling at the base of my thumb. Mr. Goon examined me and very quickly noticed that I had torn my ulnar collateral ligament. He said that surgery would be needed since the ligament was most likely completely torn and listened to all of my concerns patiently. He booked me in for surgery that same week and the care I received from Mr. Goon and his team was nothing short of perfect. He accommodated for the fact that I was going backpacking across Europe and put me in a splint instead of a cast, which allowed me more freedom whilst still protecting my thumb. The post-operative care that I have received has also been excellent, and at the time of writing this review, I am 14 weeks post-surgery and have regained functional movement of my thumb, for which I am extremely grateful and have in large part Mr. Goon to thank. Mr. Goon is an excellent surgeon and the fact that he listened to my concerns and was patient with me really made this process much easier for me.

I saw Mr Goon with significant pain and injury to my dominant hand, after seeing a private surgeon who told me that nothing was wrong and it would heal without treatment. After a year of suffering I saw Mr Goon and he immediately assessed and diagnosed the problem. He was kind and supportive and was able to quickly and efficiently plan my treatment. After feeling like the problem would never be solved, I had help and a treatment plan. Throughout my treatment Mr Goon was supportive and responsive. I was able to liaise with his medical secretary to gain on the spot advice. When there were some ongoing pain and swelling issues post surgery, Mr Goon provided further assessment and was very thorough in his approach. I recently had a follow up session and Mr Goon still has not discharged me from his care, offering me another follow up in one year just in case any problems arise. I am now pain-free and cannot thank Mr Goon enough.

I had a gym injury, causing partial severing of the tip of one of my fingers. Mr Goon operated on my hand the following day to try to restore as much as possible. He was very assuring and promised to do everything he can to minimise any loss of the tip. I felt very comfortable with his professionalism and his demeanour. The surgery went very well and the finger was almost restored in full, with just a few millimetres missing. His approach in the following weeks was excellent, with regular check ups but ensuring that the finger heals naturally and just making sure that there are no infections to the wound. After the wound had healed, Mr Goon then recognised that the nail was not growing naturally and was curving over the tip of the finger due to the slight shortening. He suggested another small procedure to apply a skin graft to create a nail bed. Once again his expertise and exprience proved very valuable and I am extremely happy with the outcome - both functionality wise and aesthatically. I am very grateful for the support, advice and work Mr Goon had done to help restore my finger.

I was referred to Mr Goon, because I had Dupuytrens Contracture of both my little fingers. My hands were operated on separately, using anaesthetic blocks, and in both cases, after six months targeted and caring physio, I can use both hands normally again. Putting on gloves is no problem, I can play the piano again, and now also can play three sizes of recorder. It has enabled me to indulge my love of music to the full. Mr Goon’s skill and care have changed my life.
